Data is unprocessed raw facts and figures. Eg. a name (vanshika gulati), some marks (56%), an year (1947)etc are data.
While taking virtual classes, all of us transmit our data with each other. Being a teacher, she shares the data of marks obtained in a test, study material shared, taking online tests etc and being a students its all about gaining knowledge and uploading our projects, assignments and homework with the help of Internet.
Talking about Cyber safety?
Cyber safety refers to the safe and responsible use of internet so as to ensure safety and security of personal information.
When we give out private data to our teachers, classmates or to other Internet users, we trust them to use that information for legitimate purposes. This isn’t always the case through and financial and personal data can be used for harmful reasons like hacking, stalking and identity fraud.
Identity fraud is when personal details that have been accessed or stolen are used to commit fraudulent acts posing as someone else with stolen identity.
Practice to Ensure confidentiality of Information and Data:
~ Use firewall wherever possible
~ Control Browser settings to block tracking
~ Browse privately wherever possible
~ Be careful while posting on Internet
~ Ensure safe sites while entering crucial information
~ Ensure that the address contains HTTP and a pad lock
~ Avoid using public computers
~ Do not give sensitive information on wireless networks
Online safety:
When you work online, you may open a malicious website or click at some malicious link. All this may infect your computer with Malware.
The term Malware is used to describe any malicious program on a computer or mobile device. These programs are installed without the consent of users and can cause a number of unpleasant effects, such as cripping computer performance, mining your system for personal data, erasing data or even adversely affecting the operation of computer-controlled hardware.
